Custom Jewelry

These pieces are custom made for myself, my friends, and my family. I prefer making custom jewelry because it allows me the opportunity to tailor each piece to the individual that I'm making it for. Some of these pieces were commissioned, however most I either made for me or for a gift. These pieces are NOT FOR SALE, yet they serve as a good indication of my style of jewelry as well as provide ideas for future commissions. Please click on the pictures for a larger, more detailed image. Unfortunately I have very little skill in artificial lighting and jewelry photography. You'd think I'd be better at it by now, but not so much. However, I welcome the opportunity to learn something new, let me know if you have any tips or suggestions. Thanks, and Enjoy!

Raw Kyanite Bracelet

Honestly, this is my favorite piece. I was first introduced to Kyanite at Bella Beads in Huntsville, AL in a cut and polished form, but I love it raw... It's got a much more earthy quality to it.

Iourma Quartz teardrops and Garnet with Sterling wire clasp

Laboradorite and dyed Fresh Water Pearl with Sterling and glass accents

Sterling filigree flower pendant with Citrine chips, dyed Fresh Water Pearl, and Sterling accents

I made this piece for my friend Autumn's birthday in 2004. Her birthday is in the autumn (believe it or not...) and I loved the warm color scheme I got by combining these particular Citrine chips with the pearls!

Sterling faerie pendant with Amber, Garnet, dyed Fresh Water Pearl, and Sterling, Celtic accents

I found this faerie at Bella Beads trunk show after the big bead show in Tucson, AZ and couldn't put her down! I've never seen another one like her.

Moonstone and Sterling crescent moon pendant with Iolite, Moonstone, and Sterling and glass accents

This pendant was given to me by a friend for Yule in 2004. I had originally strung this piece with graduated sizes of blue laboradorite, but when I wore it out for the first time it broke at dinner and I lost most of the beads. Well, I can take a hint, so when I re-strung it I chose to use Iolite instead.

Dyed Fresh Water Pearl with Moonstone and Sterling and glass accents

I made this for my friend Lorirose for Christmas 2004. When I asked her what her favorite colors were she told me blue and white. Surprisingly it was quite a task to come up with something I liked in that particular color scheme. But I loved the deep blue of the teardrop pearls and found glass beads in the same color. Add a little Moonstone, and walla!

Fresh Water Pearl with Sterling and Moonstone clasp and Sterling and glass accents

Another one of my favorites. I get more comments on this particular piece than probably any of my others!

Amber with Sterling accents

I made this for my Mom's birthday a couple of years ago. This is one of those pieces that if I hadn't been making it for her specifically, it might have come to live with me instead...

Green Amber and Sterling pendant with two shades of green dyed Fresh Water Pearls, Peridot, green and smoky glass accents, and a Sterling clasp

I made this for my Mom for Christmas based on a piece I saw in Bead & Button. I sought this pendant out online and now I wish I'd bought more... In fact, I liked this piece so much I had to make myself a similar one (see below).

Necklace: Rutilated Quartz and Sterling pendent with green Garnet, a green Quartz variety, Fresh Water Pearls, smoky and garnet colored glass accents, and a Sterling clasp.

Earings: Pearl and Sterling focal beads with green Garnet and a green Quartz variety on Sterling French ear wires.

Spider Lily

Spider Lily - August 2005

Dad gave my Mom a small unidentified Lilly two springs ago thinking that it was a Spider Lily. Last year Dad's bloomed and it was even more beautiful this year, but Mom's never seemed to really do anything. Well in early August I looked out the picture window and saw the lily in full bloom, so of course I had to take its picture....

I'm excited to say that my good friends Sean and Kim asked me to take some photos of them to send to friends and family with their wedding invitations. When I was at school in Birmingham, AL, Clay and I lived with Sean, a friend of ours from home. Kim was at school in Tuscaloosa and came over frequently to visit. We really became close the summer she moved in with us, and even though we've moved back home, we see each other with fair regularity. But the crew is growing up, engagements, weddings, and babies... When in the hell did all this happen anyway? I swear I still feel like a teenager sometimes and I've yet to figure how who is playing this ugly "adult responsibility" trick on me. But anyway, Sean and Kim are tying the knot next year and we're all excited for them. Cheers! So without further ado...

And they're off to their "Forever Homes"...

Corwyn and his new daddy Kellie

Finnvarro and his new momma Erin

Erin is Kelly's daughter and will soon be moving in behind her parents, but until then the dastardly duo gets to grow up together.

Corwyn's new sister Gugu stalks the kittens...

Gugu's close up - check out that eyeliner!
Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures of Corwyn's new brother, Gemini, or of Griselda, Gemmy and Gugu's mother. I'll have to add those later...

My Mom, Step-dad Rick, and Brigit - 7 weeks old

Brigit's new brother Trashcan
Trash is actually my cat that I got when I was 14 years old from my friend Katie's sister's cat's litter. He was the biggest one in the litter and just never stopped growing (you can't tell from the picture, but Trash weighs about 20 lbs...). So you probably want to know about the name... Well, Trashcan's name was originally Misfit because he liked to get into things as most kittens do. Well, my aunt Sara, Campbell's Momma, was asking my mom about him on the phone and coudn't remember his name, so she asked: "How's... Trashcan?" Mom just thought it was too cute and the name stuck. When I finally got my own apartment in college, my boyfriend was allergic to cats and Trash had always lived with the two cats that my mom had, so he stayed behind with Mom.

The kittens are 9 weeks old, fully weaned and most have moved on to their new forever homes. As of today, Saturday, August 28, Campbell is the only kitten left with Momma, and he will be going to join his new brother Squeak in Nashville, TN the weekend after Labor Day. It's been fun, but 5 kittens are a wild bunch, and it's alot quieter with only the one (I began to realize how quiet when Parker left with his new Mom yesterday...).
